Canada’s cities are growing fast, and with that growth comes rising demand for efficient, connected, and sustainable infrastructure. This training session is designed for planners, consultants, and municipalities who want to use digital and data-driven approaches to shape the future of mobility and urban growth.
This session explores how digital twins, integrated data systems, and real-time analytics are transforming how planners plan, design, and manage transport infrastructure - from heavy and light rail networks to active mobility corridors that support walking, cycling, and micro-mobility. Participants will learn how digital tools are enabling smarter decision-making, better collaboration, and more inclusive, sustainable mobility outcomes for Canadian communities.
Through applied examples, case studies, and practical demonstrations, participants will gain an understanding of how to build and use digital capabilities — from data collection and simulation to visualization and analysis — to plan growth and mobility with confidence.
The session will also feature a panel of local transportation planners, providing real-world perspectives.
